How do you use the scientific method in real life?

I use the scientific method when heating left overs in the microwave.
I guess how long it will take to finish cooking,and then I test it out.
If my data doen't prove my theory then i use that info to test my next theory.
And another time i can use the method is to predict that the Sam Houston Hurricanes will overcome all schools in the SAISD!!!!
